Windy Ridge caravan site, cottages & fishing lakes is rural, quite & fairly secluded and perfect for those that just want to be out of the way and chill with nature or enjoy a few days fishing, we're an ADULTS ONLY site at the edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, on the outskirts of a little village called Tetney, very close to Cleethorpes.

Thanks to "Barb the crazy chicken lady" incubating and breeding every egg she can get her hands on, we now have a lot of very free range chickens, ducks & even a flock of nutty guinea fowl running around like lunatics, most will probably pop over to visit you at some point, you're more than welcome to feed them if you wish.
Frequently seen at Windy Ridge are Rabbits, Pheasants, wild Geese, Barn Owl, Tawny Owl, Cuckoo, Muntjac, lots of wild Birds, there’s also 2 Kingfishers that live on the old Island in the lake. Please feel free to bring along some bread/lettuce/carrots/cabbage/tomatoes to feed the chickens/guinea fowl & the rabbits on the camp site (or you could buy a bag of bird food from our egg shack for £1). |
In Tetney village (about 30 mins walk / 2 mins drive away) there's a local Spar supermarket which has most of lifes little essentials such as bread, wine & beer, unless the wife's got there before you then you'll just find the bread (for Christs sake don't tell her I said that), the Plough Pub, there is also the Crown & Anchor Pub at Tetney Lock (about a 40 minute pleasant walk / 5 mins drive) which does food and also the Jug & Bottle (nice pub 5 mins drive, carvery, burgers, pizzas). There are some very nice Chinese / Indian / pizza & kebab take aways that will deliver to the site (please ask us for the menus), there are also some very nice fish & chip shops locally please ask and we'll point you in the direction of the best ones.

Things to do;
There’s plenty to do for the more active among you, such as walking along the many public footpaths nearby, Bird watching at the RSPB Nature Reserve just down the road at Tetney Marshes, you can walk your dog over to the Tetney blow wells, ride your bikes up to Cleethorpes or simply relax with a glass or three of vino.
We're roughly 4 miles by main road from Cleethorpes with it’s lovely sandy beaches, shopping and restaurants
(many of our campers cycle or walk there via the quite car free back lanes), we're only 10 miles from Louth which has a little market every Wed, Fri & Sat. For all you speed freaks, we're just 17 miles from Cadwell Park Race Track.
Lincoln Cathedral, Conningsby for the “Battle of Britain memorial flight”, Donna Nook for the Seal colonies (Oct-Jan), Horncastle for the antique shops, East Kirkby for the Lancaster “Just Jane” are all within a short drive.

Pets;
This is a fairly laid back site where quite well behaved pets are more than welcome, we do insist that all dogs are kept on leads at all times whilst at Windy Ridge due to our free range Chickens / guinea Fowl & Ducks, but never fear there are plenty of places to walk your dogs on or off the leads just outside the gates and if you ask us we'll tell you of some nice places to go walking with or without dogs a bit farther afield.
