OK, so it took a tad longer than expected, 19 months in all, seems more like a life time, cost a few quid more than wished for and broke more ribs than planned on, but thankfully it's all done and sorted now and hopefully our guests will appreciate all the hard work that went to it.
Me & Barb just wish to thank all our wonderful guests who have helped make 2018 an absolutely brill year for us over on the Windy Ridge camp site, we've met, chatted and had a laugh with some really lovely people this year.
We're closed now till Easter bank holiday 2019, when hopefully we'll have our 2 holiday cottages finished and we can get our lives back again, which will enable us to spend more time with you all over on the camp site, yipee I can hear you all cry, lol.
So for now, here's a big thank you to you all
After much dredging and sowing of grass we are finally finished and looking forwards to some good fishing in 2018.
Important News about the Fishing here at Windy Ridge;
We have just had the lake dredged, cleaned and deepened to get rid of all those bloody lilies that made it so hard to fish (it's taken all of June to sort it out) and so I'm afraid there will be no fishing for a while until the lake settles down and the banks recover, hopefully we should have some good fishing available soon.
It's that special time of the year again when we say thank you and good bye to all of our lovely campsite guests and for us and all our little critters to hibernate until spring rolls around again.
It's been a great 2016 for the camp site, we met some wonderful people throughout the season and can only hope 2017 is as good to us.
It's taken nearly 19 months but it finally happened, one of our campsite guests (Ray) actually caught a nice Carp (it fell to a single maggot), not exactly gonna break any records size wise but a lovely looking fish never the less and the first carp to come out of the Windy Ridge lake since we moved here.
The pond has been over run with miniature lilies again this year, so there aren't that many clear swims, but on the plus side there have been tons of Perch, Roach & Rudd being caught to light tackle fished in the margins with a double maggot.
Still no one has caught any of the elusive Carp yet, they see them they just can't catch um.
The Cuckoo's back down here at New Delights again for the second year running and is in fine voice, he started singing on the 1st May this year.
Our hens and quails are at last firing on all cylinders and laying nice tasty fresh eggs, we're gonna be making a little stall with an honesty box and putting some eggs out for sale soon but until then please feel free to give us a knock or a bell to see what we have. the quail eggs are really nice as a snack or soft boiled and added to a salad.
The hen & quail eggs will be £2 per dozen
( 100% of the egg proceeds go on buying more chicken/quail/guinea fowl/duck food)
